The Hip Hop Nutcracker Orpheum Theatre - Omaha Theatre reviews
The Doobie Brothers are timeless
Great concert last night in Reno. The new tunes were a nice change but not that different in the genre. The guitar work was incredible, and the drummers mirrored each other, for the most part, throughout the performance. Incredible foundation formed from an original San Jose band! The old tunes seemed untouched and sounded like they did years ago.
The sax seemed to skip notes, especially the high ones, and was a little rough. Perhaps it was the instrument itself that looked a little dated. I confirmed others had similar feedback, so it wasn't just my hearing as a result of age.
My wife, with two broken feet, attended the concert with two feet in casts. She didn't want to miss it. Afterward, she commented that the half mile walk was worth the pain. The group exceeded her expectations. Today, she is home resting with a big grin on her face, bouncing in bed to the Doobie tunes.
